One dream achieved! Just scored / recorded the music for a movie!

I have had a life long ambition to score a movie…whatever that movie may be. This last weekend the dream was completed, and the movie played at a major theater in my home town. What a complete rush! There was about 250 people for the premiere! The movie is a zombie movie…but really it’s more of a goofy action adventure movie. The trailer is online (i did the music for it as well)

Heres a linky: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=ppc-8yanZOc

Hope I’m not breaking any board rules. It’s not for profit and it’s just something amazing I wanted to share!

That’s awesome! Congrats!

I didn’t know people were allowed to have dreams in hell.

I’m seriously jealous. Congrats!

I’ll have to wait until I get home to give a listen.

Hey! The music is really good - you rock!

I just had a listen, very cool.

Do you think this will open up some more opportunities for you?

I hope it will! I’m going to try and market it and see if it catches anyones eye.

SIXSwords: I only work in hell so I can do cool things like this! Hell is not my hometown!

Very cool! I like how the music shifts. I didn’t really notice when, but at some point the investigatory flutes give way to the stabby guitars playing the same line as the tone of the trailer changes, but I don’t feel hit over the head with the transition. (Sorry, I am not a music theory person; that’s the best I can put my impressions into words.)

Huzzah!

That is SO cool - congratulations!! I look forward to giving it a listen!

Nice stuff but surely you would gouge your eyes out rather than watch the movie.

I think **Debauchery Castle **is my new favoritest movie title!

You did a great job with the music!

That’s awesome. It’s been a dream of mine as well, but I got sidetracked several times. (My desire to film score eventually led me to giving my own opera its world premier. Sort of.)

What technologies did you use? Was there a click track?

Congratulations! Enjoy your day in the sun!

Opera?! Cool! We should talk more.

I composed and timed the music on finale 2009. I then matched a click track to the score in pro-tools. I found that it was the best way to have a well composed soundtrack that lined up with the onscreen action. It worked very well for me.
