One dropped phone call: A tale of my day

… contact the Virginia State Police, whose number she remembers from the time she had to call them because my grandparents were 15 minutes late of their ETA on the 12-hour trip from Plattsburgh to Roanoke.

Ah, I see. The problem is genetic, but it must be recessive and you seem to have avoided it.

Great story.

I’m sitting here giggling over this, because I can imagine my mom doing the exact same thing. She immediately thinks the worst when a phone call is interrupted. One time she assumed that I was choking to death. I still have no idea where she got that.

That was hilarious. I’m sorry your grandparents were worried and stirred up half the county, but at least you got a good story out of it!

But I used to have a friend that had some serious self-image issues. I was on the phone with her one time and the call dropped. When I called back, I asked what happened and she said, in the most miffed tone possible, “You hung up on me.” She was seriously pissed that I’d do something so hurtful and inconsiderate. It took a good fifteen minutes to convince her that I didn’t just decide not to like her in mid sentence and hang up on her.

That is my father. He refuses to call me from his home. He will only call me while I’m at work, and he’s on his cell driving past no less than 2 military bases. Calls drop all the time, and when he calls back he’s all peeved and tells me if I didn’t want to hear what he’s saying I shouldn’t answer the phone. :dubious:

No one ever gets concerned if my cell drops, because they know it’s dead. It’s dead more than it’s charged.

Great story!
