One less genocidial egomaniac ... Milosevic is dead.

Today, the world is a slightly better place, and hell has one more resident.

Story

Disappointing he didn’t die after a few years in prison having been found guilty, but that he didn’t die free and in happy retirement is still quite good.

From the linked article:

See this, Borislav? It’s the worlds smallest violin, and it’s playing just for you.

I feel so guilty for the happiness this news gives me.

Oh not all that guilty I suppose.

Would it be bad form to say

Good riddance you sick twisted murdering bastard???

The world’s smallest violin is playing for him.

Actually, no, it’s not. Good riddance.

An obituary I read with pleasure.

Few shall weep.

Many shall rejoice.
If there is a Hell…but I am redundant.

It sucks that he will never have a chance to be vindicated. :frowning:

So, does he get to line up with Hitler, Stalin and the Like to get the daily pineapple up the ass now?

And the Family Guy bit with the dictator pool party gets a little more dated. Heck, I think the only guy still in power is Castro.

He was no Hitler or Stalin. Heck, he wasn’t even a Saddam. The ICTY had no case against him and they knew it.

He wasn’t a dictator, either.

Sadly, I don’t think that being found guilty would have changed the minds of many of his followers. It would have been nice if he could have suffered some of the pains his victims went through before he died, though.

So all those non-serbs just died naturally?

The number of non-Serbs that died has been greatly exaggerated, few of those who died were civilians, and of those civilians that died, there’s no evidence linking Milosevic with their deaths, except the fact that he happened to be the president of Yugoslavia at the time.

The mass graves, the forced deportations, the attacks on non-combatants, the torture in the prisons, and the systemic rape of Muslim women were a conspiracy of the UN? The systemic nature and patterns of the atrocities, the writings of Kardzic and Milosevic before the war, the nationalist platform he rode into power, the resources made available to accomplish these atrocities, and the timing of the atrocities were pure coincidence and the result of a few thousand bad eggs?

For anyone interested, here is the summary and conclusions of the UN Commission of Experts. There are literally hundreds of thousands of pages of documentation about the atrocities that occured in both Bosnia and Kosovo. Of course, there will always be apologists, even for the leader of military and political branches that carried out these atrocities, but I’ve found spending time trying to convince them is fruitless.

How many non-Serbs was it then?

How many were civilians?

Of course, the president of Yugoslavia has very little influence on the activities of the government or on the forces allied to it.

Since when are Russion doctors better at treating heart conditions than Dutch doctors? Borislav, you’re an idiot.

Well, you see, the Russian doctors wouldn’t be in on the conspiracy to kill Slobo, and thus he wouldn’t have died under any “mysterious circumstances.” (Does this tin foil hat make me look fat?)

No that would be very good form in this rare and special case.
One less evil in the world, hooray.
