See, even the mention of Brooklyn kills threads dead.
Definitely not the first, nor last time I’ve commited unintentional threadslaughter in the 3rd degree.
On the bright side, if the mere mention of Kings County scares prospective attendees off & lowers the turnout, you won’t feel obligated to smuggle in a keg of beer.
Got a note from Pleasantly Vibrating William; he suggested Chinatown for dinner and Little Italy for dessert.
Sounds like a perfect New York night to me!
One question: Am I going to get caught between the moon and New York City?
You must hit the market in Little Italy. I’m not sure what time of year it gets going full bore, but cheap crap can be found.
Right as you exit the Double Tree, turn right and go a half block down. On the left hand side there is an Irish themed pub, IIRC it had some pork related name. When I stayed at the DoubleTree for work a few different times, I got drunk there several times with my buddies. The people were nice, and it’s a short stumble back to the hotel.
That hotel is way over air-conditioned. It’s the coldest hotel I’ve ever been to. Hopefully they’ve fixed that problem.
The dark haired concierge is grumpy and clueless, try the younger brown haired girl. She knows more.
I’m in! Oh, and Biggirl? I came to Brooklyn for that one…
Thanks Nursie… Will do.
Good to hear it, OxyMoron! Looking forward to meeting you.
And if you see the cheap knock off t-shirts, keep an eye out for the one that looks like the Levi’s logo, but says Elvis.
I always considered buying it, but never got around to it. I figured I’d just get it next time, then we lost the NY client.
I’ll buy you a sammich at the place we had the lunchdope. And I’ll pay the price of the shirt.
Size L please
If you’re going to Little Italy, you’ve gotta eat there. Oh, man…the food! I’m drooling like a St. Bernard just thinking about it. I always go to a funky little place called La Mela (I think that means the apple in Italian.) Sooooooooo good. Eat 'til it gets hard to breathe. Yum!
Maybe you’d be interested in doing another touristy thing: taking one of those ferry tours down around Manhattan, out by Liberty Island, up the East River, and back. Kinda cool. Cheap.
If you’re near Central Park, maybe you’d like to check out the Museum of Natural History, if you’re into that kinda thing.
Gotta see Times Square, too.
Whatever you decide on, I’m sure it’ll be fun. I love New York.
Hey all, I’ve started an invitation thread.
