Why on earth would I have meant 3 1/2 years overall? Yes, I fed one kid for 3 1/2 years and the other one weaned about 3 years. No, I didn’t find it to be weird, it was just something that happened YK?
We have a family background of severe allergies and extended breastfeeding was something I was interested in doing to see if it would help. Neither of my kids have eczema, asthma or hay fever while every other kid in the extended family has at least one of those conditions. Purely anecdotal I know :).
And I have to say that for extended breastfeeding, 3 1/2 years old is relatively young to wean. Weaning was easy with both my kids and there were no great dramas with it. Never had to muck around with bottles or pumping or anything like that.
