One of the nicest things I've read in a long time.

What a nice story. The reason behind the wish is very special, indeed… he wants to spend time with his dad, who also is facing mortality. It warmed my heart.

Isn’t it sad that it’s stories like that which really make you stop and realise what you’ve got? My heart goes out to them.
You know what? I agree with what Lori said at the end.
They certainly strike me as fighters, suvivors.
All the best to them

Smoking sucks.

Maybe 43-year-old-Dad wouldn’t have had seven heart attacks if he didn’t have a two-pack-a-day habit.

He raised a good kid though … too bad he won’t be around to see him grow up.

I hate to be a spoiler, but my sympathy for the Dad went right out the window when I heard about his habit.

The Make a Wish foundation does good things. Kinda restores my faith in people. Great story.

I agree with Spiff – a nice story, but the Dad strikes me as particularly selfish for continuing to smoke. What a dumbass.

[sub]Yeah, I know it’s amazingly difficult to quit smoking. His pains would be absolutely minute compared to what a kid on chemotherapy has to go through. So fuck him.

What a great story. I only wish everyone could appreciate their parents and do stuff with them like this kid does.
