One of these again: Recommend TV series on dvd?

Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. I just discovered, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, that Friday the 13th, the Series has actually been released officially on DVD. They’re on season 2 of 3 now.

Go and watch if you’re at all interested in horror. NOW. Seriously, it has nothing to do with the movies (they ended, abruptly, before they could put in even a joking one), and it’s good.

I actually missed that part of the OP, sorry. But I’ve only seen the first few episodes of BSG, and while I guess it isn’t exactly cheerful, with the whole destruction of most of the human race thing ;), there is a lot of humor in it. Maybe it gets more dark and depressing later…that will suck, if true. So far, I’m not finding it all that bleak, despite the themes.

My favoritest ever. I’ve watched them front to back 5 times now.

Every bit of happiness in BSG is fleeting - it’s an ongoing struggle against extinction. It’s hard to make that cheerful.

That said it’s one of my fave shows ever so clearly it works for me.

No suggestions, but check sale ads. Target has all sorts of series on sale all the time for as low as $10 if you catch the right time. It’s a great way to discover new shows.

I’ve started “The West Wing.” I’m still on the first disk of season one, but I’m enjoying it a lot.
