One thing I don't get about tattoos: They are (mostly) invisible

Odd how those people are unworthy of your time in the real world, but you have plenty of time to register to a message board so that you can write lengthy and detailed anonymous posts on the internet telling them how stupid you think they are. Equally odd is your assertion that a real “tough guy” would wear short sleeves to a job interview, as you really don’t see a whole lot of short sleeves in job interviews irrespective of tattoos, and as the use of "tough guy’ to descibe people that by your own admission you are only willing to confront over the internet is ironic and hilarious.

Would my social security number suffice? How about a DNA sequencing? I’ll invite you over for tea and buiscuits, followed by a Swedish massage. Hopefully that will satiate your desire to become aquatinted with me before you proceed to address the topic at hand.

The interview scenario illustrates how self-righteous inked ideology directly conflicts with harsh reality.

The ‘tough guy’ label addresses the sociopathic apathy toward critical opinion, as if they live in a vacuum. Which is of course disproven when tattoos are concealed during employment screening, as previously mentioned

I can’t work up the anger necessary to pit this sad, little man.

ETA: plus he’s a boring one trick pony.

It’s really bizarre, isn’t it? I mean, I get that not everyone likes tattoos. I get that some people find them ugly and indicative of impaired decision making process in the individual. But I’m pretty sure this guy’s wife left him for a tattoo artist or something. This level of vitriol is usually reserved for threads on circumcision and whether you should ask your guests to remove their shoes in your house…

Feel free to comment on the topic rather than engaging in ad-hominem attacks. Address the arguments. What about my argument don’t you agree with?

The part where you’re not making one. You’re trying to *have *one, sure, but that’s not the same thing.

Odin Bless you Always!

I can appreciate your persecution complex, but you’re not a victim. Once again, feel free to engage the conversation.

Nah, we’re done.

I have my favorite quote, written out by my late brother the day before he died, around my left wrist. It’s usually covered with a watch, so that I’m the only one that sees it. I had such a connection with him there at the end, that if I’d had it done on my back where I couldn’t normally see it, I’d seek it out to look at every day to remind myself of everything about our relationship and him. I don’t typically share it with others unless asked and I had it put on in such a way as to NOT be extraordinary to others (because it’s not about that) and to not hinder me in any job I choose. I have no idea what that says about me to anyone else, nor do I care. However, on the great pantheon of argument against tattooed folks, there’s one more useless data point. Just saying.

Perfectly reasonable. A tattoo with deeper meaning than a deceased dog, intentionally viewable by it’s owner for that reason, and concealable.

Here we find no irrational justification for a hidden tattoo, no esoteric explanation, no arm-chair psychology. Just a straightforward, honest anecdote.

It’s refreshing.

To everyone-Let’s get back to the topic of TATTOOS…any further discussion that is not related to this will be warned for ignoring mod instruction as this is the 3rd note about this in this topic.

Don’t mock other posters in this thread…if you want to call someone out, use the Pit.

But it is so amusing to see both people get so angry about the concept of them and then other people getting angry because someone doesn’t like them.

Seriously, these threads are golden.

I’m in my forties and had thought about getting a tattoo for years but could never think of something I would want as permanent body art until last year when my mother died. She was the last of my family, and it has been devestating to me. If I can find a good artist I want to get two small cherry tree branches with blossoms, one with her name on it and one with my dad’s name. Such a tattoo would look odd on my forearm or somewhere else seen, but on my shoulder I think it would work.

and I may very well do something of this nature as an homage to my companion dog of 13 years, thank you for the wonderful idea. She was a red Min Pin named Cinnamin (not misspelled, the min was a play on the MIN mart of her breed name) I don’t know about pay print but if someone can do a reasonable outline or rendition from her picture, that would be amazing.

if his preferred therapy is electroshock treatments they need to up the wattage

I am so glad I am smart enough not to do that to my body.

:cool:You cool.

Smart enough to avoid a tramp stamp. Not smart enough to read a time stamp.
