I don’t think that guy is supposed to be RvP (who is under contract with Adidas), though he is the only current Gunner who also plays for the Netherlands. The guy’s right-foooted, unlike lefty Van Persie. And the first team we see the guy with isn’t RvP’s former team Feyenoord (I don’t know who it is, but it’s not Feyenoord).
I thought he was supposed to represent the viewer - he’s us, some anonymous guy who makes good.

that first team is just an amateur’s team, not a professional Dutch team. Wenger doing his own scouting at a Dutch amateur’s club is not very credible, but alas. Anyway, you’re right about Van Persie not being right-footed and being sponsored by Adidas, but other than that he’s the Dutch player who comes closest.
How can he be the best player in the world after leaving his German wide open to head in a goal? A critical defensive mistake in a huge game on the world stage disqualifies you from best-in-the-world consideration, I figure. There are strikers who know how to defend, and a guy that tall shouldn’t be losing headers anyway.
It’s me, actually. Guess I’d better lose some weight.
