Ongoing Prostate Cancer Treatment

so glad for you! :heart_suit:

Treatment 4 of 5 is done. Friday is the last one. Overall, I’m feeling OK.

I’m glad it’s going well so far.

I had surgery, not radiation, so I don’t know how applicable this will be. But I found my recovery in the month post-surgery wasn’t exactly linear. I’d feel better for a few days, and then for no good reason, feel completely wiped out for a day.

So don’t get discouraged if your energy level drops sometimes. The overall progression is up.

That’s pretty close to what the Doctor said today also.

I am so happy that this is going well

Yay for so far so good! One more to get through, then just a little rest hopefully.

I think a virtual online Doper celebration is in order Friday afternoon or whenever you get home from your last treatment. So be sure and announce it. BYOB & snacks, of course, but you will be inundated with virtual hugs and good wishes. :clinking_beer_mugs: :clinking_glasses:

I’ll bring the shrimp-wrapped water chestnuts.

And I’m back.

All 5 treatments done, nothing more on the Prostate front until January. Swooo.

I have some normal bloodwork Monday, so Monday night I plan to celebrate with some Ice Cream.

I should plan on something special tonight, but not bad for sugars and carbs. So Meat.

Yay! Glad that’s over with!

Onight: ribeye steak, Caesar salad, ice cream, beverage of your choice, sleep in tomorrow, maybe a big breakfast out somewhere. Then a totally easy, no-stress Saturday. That’s Dr. ThelmaLou’s prescription.

Everything should clear out by the time of your blood test Monday.

yahoo! Is the blood work related to this, or just coincidental timing?

Coincidental timing, in fact I have to remember to tell them not to do the PSA test, that waits until January. This is for my regular Doctor and I’m hoping my A1C is a lot lower than the last official test. My last 2 at home test were better and great.

I treated myself to Chicken Cordon Blue and a sangria last night at a local diner. It was tasty but too salty.

Glad to see you treated yourself, even if it wasn’t quite perfect. Adulting is hard sometimes. Just keep on keeping on as it were!

I heard that! I have gone lower/low salt since it really affects my (high) blood pressure and now most restaurant food is too salty. So glad you are done with your treatments!

How did the weekend go? How are you feeling? Hopefully rebounded and fairly good??

Rebounding is about right. Feeling better but not close to 100% yet.

Thanks

Excellent news.

Today I am actually starting to feel normal again. I had energy to do some yardwork and went for a haircut.

I don’t feel wiped out. I’m not pushing it, but it feels like good progress.

Oh, and I got my A1C results yesterday and down to 6.1 which is not ideal, but the lowest it has been in 3 years. The rest of my bloodwork was all in range. So good news overall.

Well, heck yeah, that’s good news. Nice to have semi-immediate confirmation that the pain and trouble was worth it. Of course, you still have to keep adulting as I’ve found after hitting the big 50, but I consider it a win!

Sorry, A1C is Diabetes related, it means I’m pre-Diabetic instead of diabetic.

I won’t get the PSA until early January. So no immediate confirmation at all. I think the expectation is for the PSA to be very low by then, but I’m not sure. I should find out.

I’m going to bother @Qadgop_the_Mercotan one more time on that part.

I think with the treatment I got that 3 months later the PSA is expected to be much lower, is that correct?
