Online Money Donation Links...Help?

What kind of online options can we use that can provide a link for donation that sets up immediately with no turnaround time?

Speed is good. I can use an answer with that.

Bump. I need this ASAP.

Do you mean an account that can be set up with no turnaround, or money that can be collected almost immediately?

I don’t know about the former, but PayPal gives you your money PDQ.

Threre’s a two-week turnaround for Paypal. They’re out of the question.

I hate to chime in with a half-answer, but seeing that you are in a hurry, I’ll add my two cents:

We use JustGive.org, but that won’t meet your time constraints.

The only other thing I can think of, which would likely take at least a few days to setup, is having the organization setup its own CC merchant account. You don’t really save any money vs. JustGive, but you’ll get the donations faster. We don’t go this route because we don’t get enough donations to make it worthwhile.

PayPal has a two-week turnaround time?

Sorry, as far as I know, there is no “quick” way to get this setup, because you need either to be a registered charity (I think in the states this is a 501 c), or provide tax information so that monetary gifts will be taxed correctly as income.

lexi is right, I should say. Getting a non-profit set up is not something you can do in two weeks’ time. In order to get a non-profit registered for tax purposes, you need to send in a form (Form 1023, in case you’re still interested) to the IRS, and I don’t think I need to tell you they’re not built for speed.

I was operating under the assumption that he had already setup the charity; he was looking for a quick way to setup online donations. If the charity hasn’t been setup, then nevermind.

If its a case of setting up a fund to benefit a specific individual (non-tax-deductible), then that could be a different story.

Even if someone already has a registered charity or are even just taking “gifts” for your self, often online companies which allow you to take donations need you fill in tax info somewhere and verify the information is correct.
