Okay, So I’ve done some searches before through the website for my local clerk of courts website. However, I tried again recently and was hit with this little gem:
Rule 2.051 (e)(1) - Requests for access to records shall be in writing and shall be directed to the custodian. The request shall provide sufficient specificity to enable the custodian to identify the requested records. The reason for the request is not required to be disclosed.
Please enter your full name to satisfy the requirements of Rule 2.051(e)(1):
It then provides you with a form field to fill in your name before proceeding. Never had to do that before. Hm.
Anyways, I was curious if anyone knows what the penalties would be for typing in a ficticious name for a search such as this?
The law in question is a Florida law, access to online records through the Leon County Clerk of Courts page.
Any info appreciated.
Cheers!
