are here now, but earlier there were more. What’s happened to the others, and if whatever happened to them is a regular thing (archiving, perhaps?), how often does *that * happen?

Huh? There’s WAY more than seven threads in this forum.
Do you have this forum set to show only threads from the past 2 days? You can adjust how many days back to show threads, they aren’t archived, but you can adjust how far back you look on each forum.
Or did you mean something else?
At the bottom of the “About This Message Board” forum page, there are three pull down menus. The third one controls from how many days back the threads are shown. You probably have it set to show threads from the last 2 or 5 days. Setting it for a longer time period will show more threads.
Okay, I should have said “on this index screen/page,” I guess. Maybe the default is different for this forum on my computer. I haven’t diddled with the settings, and the other forums seem to ‘always’ have full screens, as did this one (for me) until earlier tonight, when I did the OP.
