Ooh-rah!

In an MSNBC article on early Iraqi surrenders (they’ll be in time for happy hour at the Kuwait Hilton) I saw a picture of rallying soldiers holding rifles and pistols aloft. The kind of thing I expect from a tin pot dictator like Saddam… Wait a minute. Those are Beretta 92s and M-16s… those are Americans. Never mind. We never got to do that in the navy. <pout> Actually when I saw the photo I thought the handguns were Helwan Brigadiers, an early Beretta type made in Egypt.

Copy of the Beretta Model 52, wasn’t it?

“All the way!”

I think so RR. I heard they were built in a former Beretta factory not unlike the Taurus 92 clone from Brazil.
