OOOOH! Panda! *squeeeeee*

I wish I were a captive breeding panda. There’d be hundreds of new panda cubs every year!

Sorry. Um, Link.

Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. I am your daddy. Prepare to be boarded.

I have no idea what you’re talking about, but you “squeed,” and that’s kinda cute.

If you’re girl. :-\

[quotw]In 12 months, he’s grown from a 4-ounce newborn the size of a stick of butter to a 54-pound fur-ball. He’s learned to walk and to climb trees. He’s still nursing, but he is eating apples and carrots and bamboo leaves, said senior giant panda keeper Kathy Hawk.

He has also endeared himself to the public and to keepers, who call him their “Baby Boy,” “Mr. M” and “Goof-ball.” Oh, and “Pooper,” which he responds to.

Awwww!

It’s Inigo Montoya. Definitely not a girl. Likes pirate wenches.
…Sorry. I squee, too, occasionally, does that count?

[Brent Sienna] Auuuughh! Nooooooo!! [/Brent Sienna]

Aye, which reminds me…ye don’t happen to be ownin’ one of them thar Panda Suits by chance?

Inigo: Panda Love God

Inigo, I don’t even know what to say to that. What are you going to do if I don’t have one? Worse yet, what will you do if I say I do have one? :confused: :eek:

DH and DS were are the zoo two Sundays back. They skipped the inside line and wandered onto the upper deck. Butterstick was climbing and did a drop and landed on his back. They said they could see the thought bubble “oooof”. He is sooooo cute!

su lin in san diego turned one as well.

what cuties these panda kids are.

“*It’s just past the top of the hour here at KTER; our next request goes out to a very special listener named Inigo. Here’s… *The Squee Song.”

Oh I wish I were a captive breeding panda;
That is what I’d truly like to be;
'cause if I were a captive breeding panda;
The other pandas all would breed with me!

I like how the panda’s Chinese name, Mei Sheng, translates both to “Born in the U.S.A.” and “Beautiful Life.” How does that work, exactly? Does the Chinese word for the United States also mean “beautiful,” or “life?” Either one seems awfully nice and poetic of the Chinese, if true.

I’m going to say there is a common word for “Unity” and “Beautiful” and for “Born” and “Life”

Makes me feel like biting a wax tadpole, I tell ya.

Cutie Panda boy
Cyn, who used to own a panda suit.

from what i understand it depends on the tone. mei said in one tone means beautiful. said in another tone it could be something totally unrelated.

mei sheng’s big sis is hua mei, which translated out to china usa. little yearling sis is su lin, which means a little bit of something cute.

Fuckin’ baby pandas… What’s next? Baby seals and kittens?!.. <grumbles… stomps off>

Ah Quickie! I was wondering when you were coming by!

I’ve spent a fair amount of time at the SD Zoo over the last 45 years, and I have to say that I find Pandas (please forgive me!) rather boring.

But, then again, I love visiting the Galapagos Giant Tortoise pen*. Go figure.

*It used to be a lot better before they put the railings in–several of the tortoises really loved getting their necks scratched. I guess someone must have gotten themselves chomped.

Eh. You know me. No quicker way to get my attention than to mention baby pandas or bisexual Latvians. :wink:
