Concerning Inigo Montoya

I have heard from him this morning. He is alive and as well as can be expected under the circumstances. He will not be returning to the board, at least short-term, though the door is open in the future.

He has given me permission to handle this situation as I see fit, but at the same time, I wish to preserve his privacy as much as possible for his sake and his family.

What you need to know: He has an serious illness and will need medical attention. However, he does not have a brain tumor.

He was not jerking your collective chains yesterday and this was not a desire to hurt you or to gain undeserved sympathy; he was acting out of illness. I think it could be fairly said he was, in that moment, not totally responsible for his actions.

At the least, he’ll be on sabbatical.

He is grateful for all of you that cared enough to speak up and reach out, and he is very embarrassed for what’s happened. I ask all of you to be considerate of Inigo Montoya during what is undoubtedly a difficult time.

I, for one, wish him well and hope he does eventually return. I’ve always found his posts worth reading. Inigo, take care, and please do return when you feel able. :slight_smile:

If Inigo decides not to return, I hope he’ll consider piracy. I think he’d make an excellent Dread Pirate Roberts.

Inigo Montoya, you received quite a jolt, so it’s not so unusual that a first reaction would be kind of over the top. I’m sending good vibes your way and will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Please come back when you feel up to it and let us know how you’re doing.
