Very simple. My current insurance is being cancelled. The most similar plan, by the same insurance company, will cost me $5,500 more in premiums, plus $2,600 more in deductibles. That adds up to $8,100.
Why? The country owes trillions more in debt because of him. I usually call him a lot worse, like the Empty Suit, or the Liar In Chief - both of which are also completely accurate.
Interesting. And you’ve checked the appropriate website and this is the best deal available?
Why? Because it’s silly and immature.
And I assume you were equally critical of the previous administration which took us from a surplus to adding “trillions more in debt” as well, while noting that the deficit has actually been falling under Obama.
Yes, and I verified it on my insurance company’s website. The “Affordable” Care Act is a name right out of 1984’s Ministry Of Truth.
Yes, I was. BushII was a big-government social conservative, which is just as bad as a big-government liberal. While Owebama is one of the worst presidents we’ve ever had, BushII isn’t far behind. The Patriot Act and the Department of Homeland Security were inflicted on us by Bush. If not overturned, however, the ACA combines a humongous welfare program with IRS oversight and intrusion into private medical care. Talk about an evil trifecta. Not to mention costing me a small fortune on a personal level.
As far as the deficit falling under Owebama, that’s due to even more tax money being stolen by the government, which isn’t a good thing. Government spending is what is important, not how much money the government can steal from us.
I’ll speak slowly so you can understand. The Liar In Chief told us repeatedly, “if you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance”.
No, we can’t. It is being cancelled and we have to find new insurance at a tremendously higher cost. The White House knew about this several years ago, but the lie was repeated over and over.
As far as your last comment, what exactly did I fall for? I didn’t fall for anything. I knew the president was lying, and I knew the democrats who voted for this either didn’t know what was in the bill or didn’t care how horrible it was.
I’m not the one disappointed in what’s happening. I’m disgusted and angry, but not disappointed. It must be painful for those of you who supported and believed the serial liar, only to find out how much of a deceitful gasbag he really is.
I don’t really think this is going to help you convert anyone to your way of thinking. Delusional rantings are still delusional rantings even when spoken slowly.
Also, how do you control the rate that your typed words are ‘spoken’ anyway? When I write something, the speed at which it is processed is dependent upon the individual reader. Is there a ‘read post aloud’ button at the SD with a sliding scale for speed that I haven’t noticed?
His insurance has to cover more than it used to, with other services that required a co-pay now having to be free.
So yes, that’s the administration’s fault.
Further, due to lack of foreseeing the eminently forseeable, the administration can’t afford to blame the insurance companies because those same insurance companies are now the administration’s only chance to get this whole thing working. What a position for a Democrat to put themselves in.
After reading my post, you think I need the sarcastic emoticon to get your ‘joke’?
Wow. That pretty much speaks for itself I think.
By the way, being condescending isn’t the same as making a joke. I know conservatives have a problem with understanding the concept of humor though so its not surprising that you’d conflate the two.
ex-Prez Clinton comes out in favor of changing the law to let people keep their plans if they want. I hope he cleared that with Obama first. Otherwise, WTF, Bill?
Any change at this point will add to the chaos. Collapse will be a lot more chaotic than repeal and replace because, obviously, the insurance industry is so large that change can not happen quickly. Also, the insurance companies will be left waiting for regulations from HHS and will then have to change direction when the new regulations are written. It will be painful.
If the full implementation of ACA is as bad as the rollout then many more people will be without insurance as a result of ACA than if ACA had never passed. In that case transitioning back to the old system would still be chaotic but desired by the country. I assume certain parts of the law will remain intact because, even if better solutions can be found, the screams from the left about throwing certain people off of their policies will greatly reduce the chances of having an adult conversation.
And if I were a ruthless lefty like Lenin, with a firm realpolitik outlook unhindered by human considerations, nothing could make me happier. Millions upon millions of people who previously could not be insured will be. Add to that number the millions of parents of young people who are relived that their offspring are insured under their plans, plus the unknown number of people who will be pleased that their “provider” cannot force them to play Wheel of Coverage.
I’m just guessing here, but I’m guessing they will not blame Obama or the Democratic Party, but will most likely focus their electoral ire on the Republican Party. While that might otherwise be a delightful prospect, the human cost is far, far too high. I would be pleased to think that they care about that. I don’t think so. With Ted Cruz as alpha lemming, they would most likely fling themselves off the nearest available cliff in their first and only flying lesson. Wheeeeeeeeee-splat!
If only Obama had said “Some of you have plans that are pieces of shit. Even if you think you’re happy with that piece of shit, you won’t be able to keep it. For those of you that have plans that actually cover shit, you can keep them as long as they were in place before the cutoff date. For those that had a piece of shit plan, going to a plan that actually covers shit will be more expensive. Does that surprise you? It shouldn’t. Now some of you are going to discover that getting a plan that covers shit will be more expensive. And you’re going to run to a lazy journalist who is going to cover this like it’s a big fucking scandal. What you’re going to discover if you take the fucking time to investigate this is that you may qualify for a subsidy and the increase may not be that great, and many of you are going to wind up with real insurance for less money than you currently pay for your piece of shit. In any event, you won’t be out in the cold if you find yourself in need, and you won’t wind up at the ER making the rest of us pay for your sorry ass. Some people call this socialism. Those people don’t know shit, they said the same thing about Social Security and Medicare when they first came out. So chill the fuck out and give it a chance.”
