See post 53
FWIW when there is any violence on either side , I would be equally outraged. I believe I have been consistent on that.
Repeating the lie doesn’t make it true.
Post 53 tells me nothing except that you’re misinformed. BLM is Marxist scum? WTF? Do you think they want the proletariat to overthrow the bourgeoisie? Do you think, for example, NBA basketball players that have BLM on their jersey, or the NFL which puts Black Lives Matter in the end zone is looking for workers to take over the means of production?
“I’m called a racist because I don’t support BLM” – maybe we should unpack that. BLM: “Black Lives Matter”. Which does not say that white or brown or yellow or red lives do not matter, just that black lives must no longer be taken for granted.
BLM is not an actual organization. It is a complaint. So “I don’t support BLM” is “black lives don’t matter”. That sounds pretty fucking racist.
See called a racist again…
I haven’t called you a racist, but I will call you an idiot who seems very defensive about possible racism with very bad reading comprehension. OK, here goes:
You’re an idiot who seems weirdly defensive about possible racism and you have very bad reading comprehension.
You are a fucking moron who does not know what words mean.
You think “marxist” is some kind of insult, but have no concept of what it is.
You don’t think black lives matter. You have made it clear that you are FINE with black people being killed for no cause at any time. Specifically, you’re fine if black people are murdered.
You are filth. Scum.
Better?
One thing I’ve noticed: Nobody really ever tells the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation that “all cancers matter.”
Weird, right ?
If doctors, funding agencies and medical researchers were ignoring breast cancer patients, and actually kneeling on their necks and killing them…
Then the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation might be getting a little upset, and trying to draw attention to the fact that breast cancer patients were getting the short end of the stick.
Weird how this is not happening.
I don’t think I made my point very well.
Responding to “Black Lives Matter,” and all that it truly means, with “All Lives Matter” is analogous to shouting at Susan B. Komen that “All Cancers Matter.”
I’m agreeing with you.
Ahh yes. Agreed.
He’ll also ignore that BLM, as well- or un-organized as one may imagine it, has no control over who calls themselves BLM protesters, while the police have complete control over who is or isn’t a police officer, in fact they hire, train and certify every person who becomes a cop.
BLM organizers also have no duty to prevent crime or arrest people who commit crimes, while the police do, and deliberately fail to do so when a fellow cop commits a crime.
I’m all for reforming the cops and the BLM movement and firing a shit ton of cops but a guy running at you with a knife from TEN FEET AWAY is basically on top of you. A running man will cover that distance in a second. Few situations merit the use of a gun but that is one of them.
You’re called a racist because you’re full of racist bullshit.
Are we sure that third one wasn’t HI, Opal Tometi? *
*(remembering you fondly, Opal. RIP)
Nicely done, k.
You appear to be complaining that the reactions to your position are based on an un-nuanced, non-contextualized reading of the words you’ve posted.
Let’s go ahead and stipulate that for now.
I’m just going to point out that understanding BLM as a movement requires a nuanced, context-driven reading of the very phrase “Black Lives Matter.” I’ve yet to read a post of yours that suggests you have applied such nuance and context in your own reading.
Which leads me to wonder: Why do you get to insist upon nuance and context from everybody else, when you don’t apply them yourself?
You’re all wasting your time. Long detailed replies mean nothing to eenerms. He’s got you all dancing the Shodan tango.
You write a big detailed rebuttal, and you get this back:
Stop wasting your time.
Opal was listed third, though.
