Operating Psychotic

I hope to occupy an elected office within the next 20 years as an openly schizophrenic (and untreated) citizen.

Generally speaking, you hear about the fact that someone is schizophrenic or bipolar or whatever in conjunction with hearing that they’ve killed a dozen people on the Staten Island Ferry or pushed innocent bystanders into the path of an oncoming truck or something. It isn’t often that the newspaper or the TV is going to report that “Denise Ferranza has been desiganted the COO of International Hotels Inc. Ferranza, who is 38 and blonde and bipolar, has been with the company since 1987”

That leaves many people with the impression that we spend all our time raving. Or, if medicated, drooling.
