“Lawyer Kung Fu”? I like the term!
Popok, one of the contributors, has a show called “Legal AF”. He says, “it’s just like it sounds”. I’m not sure it really means “Legal as fuck”.
Same on both counts. They’re just the coastal liberal version of Tucker Carlson or Alex Jones, down to the shameless shilling for questionable products and a side of casual racism—whoever it was that pretended to not be able to pronounce “Vivek Ramaswamy,” they still seem to be the regular non-Popok host based on whenever they appear on my YouTube recommendations.
They clearly have an established audience, because I’ve heard them mention it repeatedly, who do not really mind how the “Trump HEADED TO JAIL after judge DESTROYS his lawyer’s LIES” never actually pans out, and who are apparently willing to accept a Michael Cohen redemption arc for its attendant hilarious zingers (“Mar-a-Lardo” is, if possible, even funnier than not being able to say “Ramaswamy”).
I dunno if the sponsorships are the primary grift or if it’s the YouTube views, but either way they are not serious and not interested in being serious. Still, like the aforementioned Lincoln Project, the clips are red meat so I imagine they’re not going anywhere, either.
