‘Post 9/11 Blues’
I’m interested to hear other comments, before I make any of my own…because I’m really not at all sure myself.
I don’t like it all that much. The delivery and facetious, provocative lyrics remind me of Eminem, but I just don’t think it’s that enjoyable. I think 9/11 is a tricky subject matter to tackle. Try to be serious about it, and it’ll likely come across as corny. Try to joke about it, and it’ll likely not be very funny. In this case, however, I don’t find it unfunny because of the subject matter. The lyrics just aren’t that amusing.
I think this guy has it in him to make some really interesting songs, but this isn’t it. I didn’t find the lyrics clever, and they also seem out of place in this song. The song is too bouncy.
