Opinions wants on CompTIA IT Pro site

So I passed my A+ exams a few months ago and I am now studying for my Network+ which I hope to take in the next few weeks.

When I passed my A+ CompTIA sent me all this information about signing up to view my information online and to join their IT Pro site. There is a fee associated with joining and you get a discount on one exam, an online bookshelf, forums, links, newsletters, etc.

The economics breakdown like this:
Cost of membership: $79 / year
Discount: 25% of one exam (i.e. $75 of the Network+ exam - list price $260)
CompTIA Reference Library Powered by Books24x7 - Access to hundreds of books covering technology topics

Is anyone or has anyone in the past been a member of the IT Pro site? Do you think it is worth the money, in your opinion?

Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Rick

If you’re planning to go for the Net+ certification in the next year, it will be a wash, at the least. I’d like to hope there’s at least four dollars’ worth of other value there.

On its own, the Books24x7 portion is probably worth it.

Thanks for the input gotpasswords.

I was pretty much thinking that it would be at worst a wash if I sign up for it and then take the N+ exam soon, which I am planning on doing.

I am still interested in other people’s opinions, anyone who is or has been a member.

Just a quick bump.

I am now ready to take the test and will be buying my exam voucher either today or tomorrow. Checking to see if anyone else has opinions on this?

Is there anyone who is actually a member of the site? Are the extras worth the fee for joining?
