Opposite of hypochondria?

Is there a proper medical/psychological term for someone who denies that there is anything medically wrong with them no matter what evidence is presented? “Black Knight Syndrome” (It’s just a flesh wound!)?

I’m not talking about a doctor or hospital phobia. Is this just simple delusion or is some other term more appropriate?

I like “Black Knight Syndrome” as the term for it! Awesome! I don’t know if there is a medical term, but I bet there is (and it’s not as cool as that one). I have a sister who’s a hypochondriac, and I fall on the other end of the spectrum - I do too much and don’t acknowledge being sick even when I should. I’m getting better at it, though.

To the extreme, anosognosiaseems to fit.

Hyperchondria?

Urban Dictionary agrees, and it’s the most reliable source out there.

I don’t need to look up any fancy words… I just call it “being a guy”. Sure, I tore up my knee playing rugby, but a couple of weeks of limping and it’s getting better, and yeah, I gouged my arm with a lumberjack saw, but it’s stopped bleeding, so what’s the big deal?

That’s one guy trait I never got. What’s so great and wonderful about pretending there’s nothing wrong when there is?

According to Dave Barry, it is because if you go to a doctor he may stick his finger up your butt. Actually he isn’t too keen on anyone exploring his ‘‘behindular zone’’.

Its not about being a roughy toughy, its about how you were brought up as a kid.

If a doctor can’t do anything about the condition as its say, the common cold, or broken ribs; whatever, then its a waste of your, and the doctors time seeing him.

As a kid it was drummed into me that which can’t be cured must be endured.
Personally I think that all too many people seek sympathy and attention under the guise of getting medical treatment.

I find pity directed at me for whatever reason, pointless and irritating.

Actual physical help yes, blubbering no.
