Opt out of annoying creditcard and other offers - Is this site legit?

My girlfriend recommended the website www.optoutprescreen.com because I get about a million annoying creditcard offers, but I wanted to make sure it’s legit. It asks for about every piece of information I would never want to give out, SS#, address, full name, etc. I’ve heard of such sites like a fake chase.com site to collect info, so before I give out any info I want to make sure this place is the real deal. Is there any way I can verify this site is the real deal before I sign off on all this personal info?

I’ll be moving in a few months, and the thought of getting all these credit card offers at my old address (where the person after me moves in to my apt) horrifies me.

Thanks in advance.

It’s owned by the Consumer Data Industry Association in Washington, DC. Sounds like a legit group:
