Pessimism is ultimately a bad thing. Not only does such a concept keep people from trying to attain something, whether for individual need or for communal need, it can also prevent the individual from acting in a situation that requires action. The sad thing about so many people today is that while they may understand an issue and have formed a good, reasoned opinion on it, they are unwilling to fight for such an opinion when the time comes. They are fooled by the myths of invincibility about their opponents perpetuated by those opponents, and thus take up a defeatist attitude towards it all, refusing to fight, for they feel there is no point, because what they are fighting against will one day win.
If, however, all these people who understood all the issues but refused to act DID act, together their energies, coupled with the energies of the compatriots already acting upon such principales, could shatter this myth of invincibility surrounding the opponent. While some pessimists use the “they will win anyway, so what’s the point?” defense as simply an excuse for laziness, others genuinely believe such an idea, and it is to them that people must reach out. Make them aware of the fact that if united we stand, any height can be attained.
