Orange juice: With pulp or no?

Surprisingly, no pulp and Lots’o’pulp are still tied.

This board is really split over this.

I used to be 100% no pulp - I loved orange juice, but would turn it down if it had even a little bit of pulp. Somewhere along the way, though, my tastes changed. Pulp it up!

I’m thinking there could be a demonstrable link between no pulp and cat declawing.

It’s all good, but I prefer with pulp.

This. If I want pulp I’ll just buy a whole damn orange to gnaw on.

Being diabetic, I actually prefer to eat my fruit instead of drinking what for me is effectively vitaminized sugar water. I have always liked the pulp so go for with pulp.

Pulp is just a disguise for whatever else they left floating in your orange juice.

I grew up on Tang. Drinking pulpy OJ is my form of rebellion or something.

Drinks should not have chewy stuff floating around. That’s nasty and wrong, and the people who like that sort of stuff obviously have deep character flaws that the rest of us can only try to graciously overlook.

I see someone’s never drank fresh coconut juice out of the shell.

When I was able to buy my own orange juice as an adult in college, I bought the type that had some pulp. Now that there are a wide variety of juices to choose from, I always pick the one with the most pulp.

I don’t buy orange juice very often, but I prefer the juice with added calcium. That juice usually has no pulp, so that’s what I get.

It is strange to me there are even options about this, are there variations of milk for sale with different amounts of curd and whey?

The more pulp the better.

Depends. If I’m using it in a recipe, no pulp. If I’m drinking it, pulp. Of course, I don’t drink OJ that often, so it’s almost academic.

I love it and I think pulp adds to the flavour. I am not exactly sure why it isn’t present in other juices. I’m sure there is a completely legitimate reason though.

I like with pulp. And you know what is even better still? Squeeze your own OJ with a little fresh-squozen lemon too! Approx. 6 oranges + 1/2 lemon. Turns your plain old OJ into rocket fuel!

OJ without pulp is just sugar water, some citric acid and 1/10 of a vitamin C pill.

I prefer “some pulp.” My REAL preference is fresh-squeezed, and I think “some pulp” varieties are the closest to that. “Lots of Pulp” has always seemed weird to me, because it’s pulpier than anything I’ve ever squeezed from an actual orange.

It depends on how you squeeze. If you use one of those had juicers with the ridges you can get a lot of pulp.
