I assume they all came from the forums.
Oh, wait. You mean in-comic. :smack: I started to, but got caught up trying to find “Durkula” and forgot. (Yeah, it’s the first one, but it had “Count” in front of it, so I skimmed over it at first.)

Is it just the two beers I’ve had, or is this the funniest OOTS in a long time?
hee hee
Funniest in a long time. I giggled out loud on the commuter train.
As far as I remember, only (Count) Durkula, Undurkon, and Jerkon were ever suggested in the forum. Greg definitely was not, although everyone is now going to start using it.
I guess I’m a Roy since I’ve been calling him Durkon throughout and just expecting people to get which/who via context.
Come on, people, no love for The Thorsaken?
Tough crowd.
Hard to compete with Pastor Expiration.
It’s definitely a shout-out to the forum-goers, even if the names weren’t drawn directly from there. There have been a ton of names proposed for That Vampire, and none of them has really caught on (in fact, I was kind of hoping that Roy would officially pick some name, to resolve the disputes). The call-out to the forums is also marked by the perspective of that panel, with all of the characters looking straight forward at the audience.
While I’m thinking about it: if anyone does what I do and zooms in on the comic to make the text about normal website sized, here’s a silly little GreaseMonkey/TamperMonkey script that scrolls the page all the way to the right automatically.
Note, it doesn’t come with any sites set up, so you’ll have to go into the script Options and add “giantitp.com/comics/” to the list of included sites.
He did. His choice was Durkon*. Personally, I don’t care much for it. Too easy to confuse with the name without the asterisk.
I kind of like Nega-Dwarf. That has a real comic-book-villain-ish ring to it.
Only mentally though.
I was worried there for a moment. Those guys are wacky.
I agree. When you come up against O-Chul, it’s really hard to beat him off.
Been wondering a long time when they were going to make an appearance.
Ah yes, the magic cloak that, even though it is flapping behind you in the wind, keeps your feet from freezing off.
Okay, that was adorable. Best. Paladin-Off. Ever.
Eh, a lot of magic items don’t make real sense.
A belt of dexterity? You have to wear it for 24 hours before it’s not a ‘temporary’ bonus?
So then you can never take it off or change your clothing? Or how does that work?
By that measure, the magic ring should only warm a small section of your finger. In “reality”, wearing either grants some sort of body-wide protection from elements effect.
They appear to be walking to the pole with no supplies or food. And you’re worried about a magic cloak?
Seriously, did they lose all their high level teleporting clerics in the war? They were supposed to arrive at Kraagor’s gate while the OOTS was busy with Girard’s gate. And the OOTS spent weeks or even months searching the desert and fooling around in the Kingdom of Blood.
O-Chul always gets a natural 20, even when he’s rolling a d6.
O-Chul doesn’t have a constitution score; constitution has an O-Chul score.
