Order of the Stick - Book 6 Discussion Thread

Arctic Goblins most likely. Apparently brown is the new orange.

It’s just a new umbrella. Nothing to get that excited about.

So you think things are just ducky with the new umbrella? Hello Kitty is not going to like this…

I don’t understand the title.

Yeah, I don’t really get it, either. It would make more sense if we had a panel of Oona reporting to Redcloak that the paladins fell through the ice and perished in the water. Which she’s presumably about to do, but hasn’t yet.

I think It refers to Lien’s theory that the new assailant has to be unrelated to Xykon so that the number of people trying to kill them will be increased, Kind of a D&D law of entropy I guess. :wink:

And I guess the boob curve people rule this day

I agree its primary reference is to Lien’s statement. But it’s also a reference to the attack itself, which was based on sound but ended up not killing its targets.

I was assuming that the secondary punning meaning was obvious, and that it was just the first meaning which was in doubt. And I guess it could also refer to Lien’s conclusion, but (at least for us real-time readers), it’s far enough past the setup to make the line fall flat.

It’s a callback to the title of 3 comics ago, where the paladins were saying the attacker has no relationship to their current quest. That was called “Sound Reasoning”.

1037 - Beast Practices is online.

Hmm…so the MITD isn’t full-size yet…

gets treat

I just thought the setup was that everyone thought it was one creature when it was really another, once it took off the headdress.

And, yeah, it’s interesting to finally get some info on the MITD. Not only is it small, but it’s obviously so–so it at least looks like something that people have seen be bigger. It also seems to be some sort of beast.

The only other things I think we know is that it is horribly ugly–at least, by (green) goblin standards–enough so to be an attraction. And that it’s really powerful, but would not have been powerful enough to beat the Order after they defeated Xykon the first time.

No, they didn’t say that. Here’s the relevant strip. They seem to agree that the MITD could kill the Order but there would be no point to doing so at that time.

But not so ugly so as to cause the goblin to go mad from the reveal. Interesting.

Og help me, but I actually LIKE Oona!

I like the wolf better.

<nods>

<gives treat>

“Greyview”… tee-hee.

I don’t know if that’s a reference to (the belief that) dogs are colorblind but it amuses me to assume that it is.
