Burlew has put up a teaser on his Twitter feed.
Looks like a cover of a book. It has a 1/2 on the spine. Blue cover, so probably the O-chul/Therkla Kickstarter stories + perhaps something else that he promised last summer. No other info right now.

Still frustrated that I can’t find a brick-and-mortar store that stocks these things.
Prequel book 1/2 Good Deeds Gone Unpunished is now open for pre-orders. Looks like it has no less than three all new stories in addition to the O-chul and Therkla stories. Available in either digital or dead-tree editions. The latter won’t be available until August, so they’re delaying the digital release until 15 August.
One of those new stories features the Scruffinator. Must read!
As far as brick&mortar stores, try a game store rather than a bookstore.
1119 is up.
It’s also like Blackwing to think he’s cool for getting onto a meme about two years after the fact.
He’s just happy the Order actually remembers him.
So at least three vamps down so far. And it was Belkar who finished two of them off.
Rich also just announced a new OOTS book, with the Azure City Kickstarter stories included as expected, but also with 3 new short stories set there as extra stuff.
I’m glad to see Minrah gets at least one hammer-face smack in before everything gets cleared out for the big boys.
I’m happy a new book is coming out, especially one with new material. But I’ll admit I was hoping to see the Gygax strips.
The spell she lights,
Is big and bright.
::clap clap clap clap::
Deep from the fire of Loki.
So why are the vamps hurt by her first spell? I thought dwarves LIKED getting hammered.
The O-Chul and Therkla stories were terrific.
I didn’t think cantrips needed to be prepared?
Damn sneaky dwarf…
Yeah, and I thought Dwarven condoms cantrip.
[I posted this over on the GitP board, but I don’t think it hurts to post here for those who don’t read that forum.]
Did anyone else notice Belkar is actually using the stakes he prepared?
When he first went into battle (panel 6, strip 1118), he used one on the door-listener that Roy had first slashed. At that point he had a knife in his other hand, so I initially assumed he hit her with a knife too. Nope, it was a stake. You can see it on the edge of panel 4.
Then in 1119, he gets the other vampire with a stake from behind. At first, I thought it was a knife then, too. Now in 1120, he’s slashed with a knife, but is preparing to finish her off with a stake.
This explains how he’s so effective in this battle. No need to allow for the usual “Belkar does more damage than he should” trope.
BTW, it’s cute how the Scruffster is participating by attacking the vampire too. I wonder if the Magic Fang potion has given him enough plusses to get through the vampire’s DR. Probably not. If it’s the same as the spell, it only gives a +1. But if it were the equivalent of a Greater Magic Fang, it could give him as much as a +5.
Painful pun. Ouch! ![]()
Belkar explicitly calls it out as Greater Magic Fang.
