Agree on that. I think it was further than 60 feet, but w/e. Is there a Protection from falling damage or damage resistance ward that isn’t Feather Fall? If so, likely they had that running too.
I don’t know why RC didn’t throw a GDM at them. It likely wouldn’t have zapped Xykon’s Overland Flight spell, and would have likely gone a ways towards getting rid of some of their protections.
As Nemo points out, Burlew needed a way for them to plausibly escape. This is it. And it was funny.
EDIT: Here’s an interesting question. Do we think that Xykon remembers that Dwarven cleric in Dorukan’s Dungeon? And puts 2 and 2 together? Because RC isn’t going to be in a hurry to remind him. Especially if Xykon and his ridiculous Racial Listen checks addition, heard any of their negotiations.
It’s certainly a good idea to spoiler blur the first few messages after an update. It means that people won’t accidentally see a plot point or a punchline revealed. Even guesses about the next strip might give away something about this strip. But I think about six is probably enough.
The problem is that if we blur them on the day the new strip is published, they’re going to stay blurred weeks, months, and years later. This thread will end up looking like a fog bank.
I figure it’s a webcomic. Everyone can read the strips as they are published. There’s no reason to worry about spoiling the current strip.
Absolutely correct. One exception: if Burlew ever does another rapid-fire set of comics, then spoiling would be wise as people may not quite catch up; but for his standard rate of once a fortnight or so, let’s not muddy the thread with a load of pointless blurs. The fact the thread has been bumped is your spoiler warning.
It’s easy to unblur, and there’s enough chatter here that it’s easy to stop by expecting just chatter on the last post and find a new post. Back before I got emails about new posts, that’s how I usually learned of a new post. Especially since Burlew is so haphazard about his schedule.
I prefer it if the first few posts after a new link are blurred, if they contain any spoilery info.
It’s not a big problem. But it’s an annoyance having to stop and unblur each individual post rather than just being able to read them as you scroll down.
It’s 2020. We don’t need to be adding any annoyances to our lives.
I’m assuming that D+M for all intents and purposes have now escaped. Xykon and Co will be caught up in a dungeon that they thought they’d already cleared, which is where they realise that the Xs are now meaningless.
