Order of the Stick book 7 discussion thread

I was thinking there would be time for Bloodfeast to be swallowed before reversion but I’m happy with the result.

I, too, thought it was cool now.

CHOMP!!!

Fuck you, Discourse.

By the rules, both V’s flight and Bloodfeast’s polymorph should turn back on once they’re out of the antimagic.

But Rich might well decide to Rule of Cool it.

GLRKT! is also a wonderful onomatopœia.

I could see Calder wanting to command Sunny to move its gaze but being unable to speak the command, what with an allosaurus attached to his throat.

Also, I’m siding with Belkar. If you can’t enjoy “a lizard turning into a dinosaur and biting into a dragon in mid-air” on its own merits,. I don’t know what to tell you.

It looks to me like Bloodfeast had Surprise on that first round of combat. That certainly helps get your teeth into your opponent’s throat.

Bloodfeast appears to have a dewclaw. Impressive detail.

We all love the dinosaur vs dragon panel.

But let’s also take a moment to admire the “Oh no, not this extremely specific situation again!” line.

Yeah, there was a sale on lampshades this strip.

Worthy of the late, lamented Don Martin.

Even in a real game of DND, mechanics should follow story.

If I were DMing for the Order of the Stick, then when Belkar started showing all this character growth towards animals culminating with adopting the transformed Bloodfeast, I’d have given him something like this feat as a ‘story bonus feat’:

That way Bloodfeast would benefit from animal companion progression and not become totally useless.

Bloodfeast also managed to get one of his claw attacks in, as well. A good detail.

Red vs. Red

Nice teamwork.

Bloodfeast must be so happy to be getting some quality tooth-time.

In the 2nd last panel, Calder got his paw into Bloodfeast’s mouth, so the chomp on Calder’s neck will probably be coming to an end.

I’m surprised Haley is having issues flying Minrah. She’s flown Elan about without much effort. I guess Minrah’s armor is heavy?

And once Minrah casts Protection From Evil, is there any point to maintaining touch contact?

Yeah, that dragon is only Huge, not Gargantuan.

Kick his asss, Bloodfeast!!

You yelled at my Mom!

Calder is toast.
