"VALE, Ore. - A van full of firefighters on their way home from a wildfire collided with a tractor-trailer and exploded in flames Sunday, killing all eight inside and injuring the two people in the truck.
"The occupants of the Swift Co. tractor-trailer were able to free themselves and were taken to an Ontario hospital with dislocations and burns, Wolfe said. Their names and conditions were not available Sunday night. "

Yet a live television news broadcast now 11 hours later reveals the couple in the semi-truck had their dog with them, and it’s on the side of the road, alive, unattended and alone!
WTF!!!
I know, I know. Eight fire fighters died. Two others in the semi injured. But what about the dog? It is a pet of those injured. How will they feel when they know their dog was left alone by everyone? For many people, a pet is part of the family just like a human child.
You mean to tell me the television reporters reporting live from the scene 11 hours later – and telling the story of this dog – cannot help the dog?
(And before you think I’m being callous, I do fight forest fires during the season. I have friends who died on fires. Our team is awaiting another callout.)
