Is it known if anyone answered his question with, “No, I’m not”? If so, what was the killer’s response?
If the killer had said / done something like not shoot someone who professed to not be a Christian, then it seems likely that he was specifically looking to kill Christians.
Another possible interpretation is that the killer viewed himself as a Christian, or at least believed that Christians whom he killed were about to meet God – it wasn’t that he sought to specifically target Christians, but he believed that they would have a particular afterlife, compared to those who weren’t. If this were the case, his response to someone who said “no” could have been something like, “you’re going to be in Hell in one second.”
If you read what we do know about him, it’s almost certain he didn’t consider himself to be a Christian. But it appears he handed a “manifesto” of sorts to someone to give to the cops, and it appears to be several pages long. If it ever gets published, that would probably be the best place to validate this. So far, the only thing i’ve heard about it is that he considered himself sane and everyone else crazy, and he was upset that he had never had a girlfriend.
If the leg thing is true, I wonder if he thought it was better to kill Christians since they’d go to heaven, but didn’t want to send non-Christians to hell.
