Specifically, I was wondering about the origin of baseball uniforms, whether they were designed specifically for baseball, or if they were essentially stylized versions of common clothes or other sporting clothes.
Then, I got to thinking about the Venus Williams thing as well as the changes in basketball uniforms over the years. Football’s changes seem pretty self-explanatory as they added pads and had to alter the outfit.
Don’t know squat about baseball uniforms, but I can tell you this: a Rams player invented the logo-covered football helmet. It was in the 50s, I believe, when a Ram player took a bucket of yellow paint and drew a pair of spiral ram horns on his plain leather helmet. The idea spread to the rest of the team and the rest of the league.
I know this because I am a lifelong Rams fan. I became one when I was just a little kid because I loved their helmets!
