Origin of the term "wixel"

I’m looking for the book and/or author in which the term wixel was coined. I know what it means, here it is in context:

I used to know the book that first used the term, but have since forgotten what it was. Help?

Wixel is just the pronunciation of WCSL. It’s not a real word.

As I said before, someone used the term wixel in a book. I read it. I understand the derivation. I’m trying to find the book.

Well, a quick amazon search on ‘wixel’ came up with a mention of the word, in a quote that said “…Wixels (David Ehrenfeld’s nickname for World Class Scholars)…”

Another amazon.com search of David Ehrenfeld came up with these books:
The Arrogance of Humanism
Beginning Again: People and Nature in the New Millennium
Swimming Lessons: Keeping Afloat in the Age of Technology

And I think there were a few others. Any help?

Ehrenfeld wrote the article that I quoted in the OP. IIRC somebody else wrote about wixels first, but I’m not even certain of that. I think that I will check out some of Ehrenfeld’s books first and see if I can find the reference that I’m looking for, or maybe a citation. Thanks.
