origins of the stork

Being a new mother I was bombarded with images of storks carrying babes to their respective parents. I began to wonder how this image of a wading bird bringing babies came about. Any ideas?

I believe I read somewhere that it had to do with storks migrating. They would go somewhere for the winter and then return in spring. At around the same time they would return the farm animals would start having litters thus the link between the two.

For what it’s worth:

Well, when the daddy stork has sex with the mommy stork, she lays eggs that hatch into baby storks…

this is a test
it is only a test
if this had been an actual emergency…

You O.K.?

I’m having trouble finding myself in here! Oh well, Happy Holidays to everyone, I’m out of here!
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

We have a live one here, folks!

Ok, I realize that I am by no means a genius when it comes to this giant f**king paperweight that is wasting space on my desk!!!

ahhhhhh

Now, as I was screaming, I may not be a pro but I would like to think that I have enough intelligence to point and click my way back to this page. However, when I receive mail telling me that one of you lovely people has replied to my post something goes horribly wrong.
I click on the link and get send to my original post but it doesn’t show the replies. I have no idea how I got here the last several times but I have a feeling it was different each time. Any ideas, folks?

I will try to visit tomorrow to see if anyone responds but if I don’t show then…farewell friends, it’s been nice trying to converse with you!
Happy New Year!

Heh, heh, heh. I haven’t got a clue what your problem is. I don’t even know if you can read this. You seem to be in some kind of a cyber limbo. Best of luck to ya.

One of your two SDMB friends,
