Orson Welles & the Crumb Crisp Coating

I posted this a few years ago, but it’s still golden.

Orson Welles & the Crumb Crisp Coating ( 3.7 meg mp3 file but worth it)

You need to listen to that to then appreciate Pinky and the Brain’s spot on parody of that:

(You Tube video, start at 1:40)

I still don’t think Brain sounds like Orson Welles, but that’s very funny.

BTW someone decided to apply the original Orson Welles recording to the animation of Pinky and the Brain:

I think the Animators did sinc the mouth of Brain to the original Welles recording. Amusing to hear “Brain” saying “I’ll go down on you” and “shit” and it looks like it was made that way all along.

Maurice LaMarche, the voice of the Brain, has said that Brain’s voice is inspired by Orson Welles, and would actually recite the frozen peas commercial to warm up. Some of his co-workers referred to it as “Orson-compulsive disorder.”

I think it’s so nice that you see a snowy field and hear someone say “every July, peas grow there.” Yes, always. We were on a can of peas- a great big dish of peas.
