This one is easy, hopefully. How can I turn off the option to view attachments in the body of the email message? Someone sends me a picture, and I have to wait for the picture to load up and appear in the body of the message. There must be some way to turn this handy feature off, right? Dadblammed if I can find out how, though.
yep! all you have to do is drag that divider (that divides your listed emails, and the preview pane) all the way down, so it snaps shut. To get it back, just drag it back up… pretty cool.
Unless I’m mistaking what you’re saying, that hides the entire email. What I want to be able to do is view the text in the emails without having to see the pictures that are attached, and filling up the preview pane…
That’s what I would have thought, too, until I tried it. All that does is turn of images that are actually part of the HTML coding. It doesn’t have any effect on images that are simply attached to the email.
Ok, this is bummin’ me out. So far, it appears you can’t do what you ask, but for some reason, you can right-click (or control-click) on the image in the preview pane, and select “View as Icon”. It will then show it as it’s default icon, rather then rendering the image. Unfortunately, you can’t do this until the image is already done being displayed, so it kinda defeats your purpose. I’m still trying to figure this out, but it’s looking pretty bleak.
