I hate when they give long montages and let there be long speeches and long clips for presentations at the beginning of the show and then at the end they speed read nominees’ names because SURPRISE SURPRISE they are over time.
Every year it’s the same on this and all award shows.

When someone starts listing people to thank, we all say “There goes HIS jet ski!”
I’d rather they let winners speak than this gimmicky stuff.
I was gonna say, I guess there’ll be one of these regular-people gimmicks every year. :smack:
Well, that thing with the theatre next door was certainly Kimmelesque.
But yeah, come on, you’re leaving like, what, 20 seconds to the awardees.
Joe Pesci would have won the jet ski.
I’m hoping the winner for best actor or actress takes the Oscar, leans into the mic, says “Thanks, bye,” turns around, starts to walk off stage, and, with his or her back to the crowd, raises their fist in the air and screams “Here I come Lake Havasu!”
Almost 11 in the East Coast and still 6 awards to present including the 4 Big Ones. They need more JetSkis.
Am I going to be in the minority when I say that was a horrible performance? She was pitchy from the beginning. Lots of power but she missed half the notes. It will win because the recorded version was great.
How did they pass up Deakins 13 times?

That did surprise me. I figured it would be from Greatest Showman. Robert Lopez was already an EGOT now he has 2 Oscars.
You would think by the time he got to nine or ten nominations, they would just give it to him the next time he’s nominated no matter what the competition was.
