Ouija Boards - I used to think it was bull until......

I know the boards are sold as toys, but I think they are more like telephones. Not everyone can use them. I have no idea why.

I watched Freshmen in college dial up random numbers, and say some of the most outrageous things. I think these boards can be quite similar. Kids using them as toys don’t have any idea who is on the other side.

How much should anyone trust the conversation from a randomly dialed number? It isn’t the Library of Congress on a laptop.

I know what’s on the other side: the table the board is sitting on.

So they can report to us what tomorrow’s lotto numbers are, then?

How do you know?

How do you know?

Is that you, Billy Pilgrim?

Doesn’t it get kinda . . . crowded?

Now wait a minute; only few hours ago you said:

But if everything happens at the same time in the spirit world, the numbers have always been drawn, and the spirits have always known what they are.

Congratulations lekatt, on running the longest, most successful whoosh in SDMB history! My hat is off to you Sir!

Yes, but not before the day after tomorrow.

Do rosary beads and crucifixes fall into this category.
I don’t believe in anything supernatural…BUT…we used a board in 1969 and it predicted that we would have a son and also gave his exact birthday which was over a year later.

Forget Ouija boards. We all know Satan really tempts us through really hot lapsed Catholics who still have their school uniforms. They offer to perform all kinds of deviant acts if we only denounce G-d. That’s why we must kill them with the axe G-d showed us in that Frailty trailer.

What are you, new?

Okay, is there anything factual that interests them that could also interest us?

I want to make sure I understand.

There is no past, future, time, and space and no calendar, but there they do have the lottery?

Could you hold off a bit on that axe thing until I have time to, ah, fully investigate?

He creatred us and he gave us a free will. Satan made his choise. There will be a day where he will have to pay the price. And there will be a day when we will be divided.

HUH

That’s like a lace collar or something, right? Who knew the Devil was into tatting.

Will there be beer?

You didn’t answer my question. Why someday, why not now?

Why did God create Satan in the first place. “Free will” (aside from the fact that it’s conceptual nonsense and logically impossible) excuses nothing on God’s part because God already knew what the choice would be. Evil can’t exist unless God wants it to exist.

Given your assumptions, what if Lucifer wins? I mean, what is the big deal if it is predetermined that God will win? It seems to me that the reason to be worried - for supporters of God - is only if Lucifer might win. Otherwise, why care?
