It makes at least as much sense as the popular view that you die and then spend eternity helping your friends and family with their inconsequential problems.

How interesting. Was the person whose eyes needed to be open one of the glass holders? I used the talking board years ago and found it to work fine. It was a source of much information I needed at the time. It was on the board that I met my spirit guide. The board is similar to channeling where spirit uses only your eyes and arm to control the board not your whole body. It wonder why you started to do it. I have not read all the posts, so you may have said that already. Did you ask the board the name of the spirit you were talking too? I don’t usually recommend board use but it seems you are doing it just fine.
I had one. The user would use the right hand to manipulate the communication arm, and it would say "Your spirit cow says, ‘Moooooo.’ ". It worked with eyes open or closed.
It gave me many answers.that I needed at the time.
