Our cats have nosebleeds - what's wrong?

I live in the country, and about a year ago a stray cat came to our house. We fed it, it stayed. It’s not allowed to come in the house, but otherwise it’s pretty much a pet. About six months ago, our cat got three kittens. So much for the backstory.

Yesterday, we noticed that two of the “kittens” (who, as I said, are about six months old now) had something that looks like a nosebleed: a small stream of blood running from the centre of the nose to the upper “lip”. It’s still there now, and it still looks ‘fresh’, i.e. the blood hasn’t dried, so it looks like they’re still bleeding. If it were only one of them, I’d assume it was some sort of small wound, but two of them have the exact same condition. What does this mean? Could it be a reaction to the cold outside? Or is it something else? My kid brother is pretty worried.

Hmmm, I don’t know but I’ll be the first to urge you to take them to a vet as soon as possible. I’m thinking maybe it could be from exposure to some sort of toxin such as a pesticide. BUt that’s just a wild guess…
