Sit-ins, filibusters, dead-locks!
Goddammit, people! Act like fucking adults!
Right, Left and Center, they all need to fucking GO!
This would be better if the board actually let me type.

No! And you can’t make me.
But get a room!
They brought in blankies and donuts. I weep for our legislative process.
Children would do a better job …
You just noticed? Been that way since at least the 2014 budget impasse.
At least the Republicans had Don Young (R-AK) to try to confront the Democrats. He has to be “restrained by colleagues and aides”. The fucking guy is 83 years old, so it couldn’t have been much of an effort. Asking for adult behavior in Congress is like asking a kindergarten class to have a mature debate.
The Senate’s latest political debacle of both parties deliberately introducing gun bills that the other side would never agree to, for the sole purpose of furthering political agendas, is the most shameful thing I’ve seen in my 69 years.
In 2012 the WI Democratic legislators ran away out of state to try and shut government down altogether rather than be outvoted on one bill after another. While it was apparently popular among many liberals, this liberal was completely disgusted with them.
Oh, and it didn’t work.
The Right needs to go. The Sit-Ins are a classic civil disobedience tactic, used for notoriously recalcitrant opposition who sit there and fan the flames of hatred instead of trying to fix it. I support the Democratic Sit-In. They may not have the votes to pass legislation, but Ryan and the GOP should just do a quick vote on it and get it out of the way.
If I were the GOP Speaker, I wouldn’t block something like that. I know my party’s full of dipshitty assholes who won’t vote on an ambrosia to cure cancer if Obama supports it. I’d let them have their votes on guns any time they want. Ryan’s an idiot for dragging this on longer than it needs to be and the longer he waits, the worse he’ll look for caving in.
And holding a vote to help the financial fat cats at the same time? Boneheaded move
Why?
Why?
Why?
Why? Why? Whyyyyyyyyy?
So it’s always the “both sides are exactly the same”, huh?
At least they didn’t go on line and beg for snacks like the Bundys.
Oregon’s Ron Wyden brought them pizza. The left side of the pies were sprinkled with moxie; the right side with bitter vetch.
The House Dems were actually trying to do a sit in? You know 1964 called and said they want their beaded macrame vest. A sit in? That is some comical shit right there. There are so many of them to young to have been around in the '60s, but fuck, they imaging if they were they’d be part of the glory of fighting against the man.
And to put a cherry on top of their childish stupidity they were actually chanting, just like the clueless dumbfuck punks who protest Trump or Milo. I didn’t watch much last night, but please tell me they got super-righteous with a “Hey Hey Ho Ho _________!!!” Pleeeeeeeease.
They were led by Congressman John Lewis, a Martin Luther King lieutenant who has a long history of protesting for civil rights and being arrested for it.
Yes, I’m aware of that. His actions back in the day were laudable, even heroic. He’s the real thing.
They did actually sing We Shall Overcome, inserting the verse “We shall pass a bill some day.”
We get the government we deserve. Elected officials aren’t some sort of alien species that springs up out of nowhere. If they suck, it’s because the people who vote, or fail to vote for better people, suck.
Run by children for children by children. Don’t think you are exempt.
For all the casual tossing around of the word “hero” in this country, John Lewis is one of the few who is a genuine hero. If you are finding yourself thinking that John Lewis is acting childish, then the problem is you, not him.
