Glad today’s over… <yawn> it’s been a long, weird day. I woke up around 1:30 needing to inspect the plumbing. That’s when I noticed someone had left a basement light on. So I found my robe and went to turn it off - and that’s when I saw that the porch light had been left on also. So I took care of all the lights, and flopped back in bed.
At that point, I remembered that I’d left my work badges and my toll pass in my car, which was at the garage. Bummer. Eventually, I fell back to sleep, and woke around 5:30 - lucky for me since I didn’t set the alarm. So shower, dress, and detour to the garage, then off to work. After coming home, I had to go fetch my car ($318!!!) then to the pharmacy and the grocery. When daughter got home, we all went out for Bad Chinese - it was especially bad today. Now we’re home, and I’m beat.
I’ll be taking half a muscle relaxer today, partly for sleep and partly so I’ll be OK to work downstairs tomorrow. On Sunday, daughter and I are going to the Maryland Science Center to see the Bodyworlds 2 exhibit while her spousal unit works and mine relaxes. So goes the weekend.
I may have to go to Cleveland for training in September. That, or the whole project will get yanked. I kept telling them it wasn’t going to be as easy as they thought it would be, but who listens to me? This project is a huge responsibility for just one person, is, in fact, a full-time job all by itself and I already have enough work for two people without it. We’ll see.
I would like to do the training, since it would look good on my resume.
Vacation sounds wonderful. I know I won’t get any time off between Labor Day & Halloween and by then we’ll be in the holiday doldrums anyway.
gt I can’t explain it, but I get this weird vibration from you… it’s telling me you’re on vacation. Am I right?
Shadow how I envy you! Cleveland in September is surpassed only by April in Paris.
And now in the world of things beerverages and Cesar dogfood commercials can make you do…
Several beerverages and seein’ the Cesar dogfood commercial that has this instrumental song one knows sounds so familiar but cannot quite place makes one use ones googlefu until one figures it out. Ok, it was my googlefu whilst ol’ y’all know who hummed the tune in the background. Did I mention beerverages were involved?
We figured it out! YAY us! The song is… drumroll …
Why did my printer start printing out 7 pages of Lenz2 Turbine diagrams? I hope it’s for #1 son’s physics class, otherwise we have a mad printer loose in the neighborhood. #1 son is on a retreat this weekend, so I can’t ask him.
I had a very long and hard day at work. It got better around 430 pm, but I was still there until 8pm. Fudgesicle for dinner and I’m off to bed.
Well, so TVMan and I decided to take a nap around 5p.m. and I just woke up (it’s 11:30 p.m. here). So much for my sleep schedule.
Shadow, let me know if you come to Cleveland and I’ll drive up for dinner one night! I’m only about 45 minutes to an hour away depending on where you would be staying.
My husband is on my sh*tlist. Why, when you know it’s my sleep-in on Saturday, do you deliberately stay up watching TV until 3am, unless it’s to try and guilt me into getting up (since I went to bed at 10pm)? NOT a happy camper this fine morning! I have one, YES, one morning a week to NOT get out of bed at 6am. This week, thanks to his lack of consideration, I have NONE!
::Looks around cautiously. Checks for large colorful letters. Jumps for joy because they’re really there.::
Did I mention I’m on vacation?
Sorry about hubby, Dotty. Where’s the wet trout, people? Please pass it to Dotty.
Sorry about the job opportunity not being what you wanted, rigs. That sucks. (Meant to say that when you first mentioned it, but can’t remember if I did.) But yeah, you should still apply. Might give you an advantage later when the job you really want magically appears if it’s experience in the right direction…
Sorry your vacation’s over, Soapy.
Hope the water has stopped drenching you by now, Puggy.
I know what you mean, Taters. My vacation’s barely started and already I’m looking around for another week to be off.
Fell asleep early, so now I’m awake and figuring out what I need to do this morning. Guess I’ll start with a trip to the grocery for stuff for the meeting I’m going to this morning. One of the other volunteers is moving and we’re bring a few extra refreshments etc. I’m thinking I’ll bring pretty plates and napkins and maybe some fruit since others are bringing more calorie-laden goodies.
Better living thru chemistry! I crashed around 9 last night, and apart from occasional cat strolls across my torso that roused me briefly, I slept till after 6. Then I took the doggies out and snoozed a little while, but I was mostly up. Now I’m all up - except for the showering and getting dressed part. Still, it felt good to have a mostly solid night of sleep.
Today I should be able to rid myself of 2 large sheets of glass that have been leaning against a tree for several years. I saw a local ad where someone was looking for glass to build a greenhouse. I emailed, heard back, and today around 2, it should be gone. Yay! I hate to throw things away when I know someone, somewhere can use them. Go recycling.
**Dotty ** - your spousal unit deserves a whap upside the head, for certain.
**gt ** - I’m jealous. It’s been so long, I don’t know if I can spell vacation…
All of a sudden, I want to get back in bed. All this from half a tablet.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienatin’ and soggy. It’s rainin’! Rained all night and it appears it will all day. Fay is takin’ her sweet time as she has all week. Shortly I need to go look at the pool. It’s just gettin’ daylight enough to see outside. It’s all gray and gloomy.
We went beddy bye shortly after my last post yesterday. Oh I had to take down one of the shades on the back porch. The wind was so strong it blew it off of two of the three hooks that hold it up. I guess I should be glad it was just one shade out of five.
Ok, maybe it’s light enough to check the pool now.
Thanks folks, for the thoughts and the trouts! Words have been had, and I made it clear that I was hurt at being treated like I didn’t matter - sometimes his thoughtlessness just cuts me to the quick. He told me I didn’t remind him it was my sleep-in, so he didn’t realise he should go to bed early :dubious: - unless he works overnight Friday, EVERY Saturday is my sleep-in! Sigh … anyway, he apologised (once he eventually woke up (helped along by my bumping and crashing in the bathroom )) and we will take it from the top next week!
