Thanks Smartie for the compliment on my hair. The funny thing is this, I’m overdue for a haircut.
For the most part, it’s pretty easy maintenance, I blow dry it, use a biiig curling iron underneath to give some lift or volume and then I use a flat iron to smoosh down the a bit of the poofiness my hair obtains when it gets overlong.
I suppose I should do some work now, although I’d much rather stay and play.
Hi everybody!!! Been a busy weekend-Firday here… Including fixing Special Teen’s computer (not her fault – momentary power outage in the apartment ruined a sector on her disk, right in the middle of the boot sequence. BSD’s ensued until I repaired it from a setup disk).
Good Thrak. Care to exchange him for my Amazing Peeing Machine? (The cat, not the baby. The cat’s more annoying… I mean friendly and lovely and sweet!) Yesterday I picked up the stroller rain cover and it dripped on me. At least it’s plastic and easily washed. :rolleyes:
Baby’s asleep, time for a quick bath and then (when he gets up) running some quick errands and enjoying being outside a bit.
I’m hungry. Should I eat something beside chocolate for N.O.L?
Oh, and Muppet, condolences on the Mom-visit, and if we do move, we’ll probably hire movers this time, but I would love help packing. Love, love, love.
Howdy all from Drownsville. Last night was the worst of Fay to date. We had high wind gusts and the two retention ponds behind our house overflowed into our backyard. Mr. Anachi had to go out in the rain and dig a trench to make it run out into the driveway. It is still drizzling but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. GOOD RIDDANCE!
bobbio, be careful what you wish for! Many of the areas around here are flood damaged because there is nowhere for the water to go. Right around Casa Anachi we got about 10 inches of rain. We didn’t lose power but a lot of people have. Who could imagine that a stinkin rain storm would amount to this???
Anyhoo, looks like we will be dry for the weekend! Hurray!
Maybe I should take a couple of pictures of the Great Dismal [del]Grassland[/del]Swamp to convince you we need your storm. A day and a half should do it, instead of 4 and counting.
Howdy, all. Papa Tigs and I went out for a yummy dinner, and then I went to bed early and slept and slept and slept. And slept. And slept some more. I feel almost human today. Which is good, since tonight we go to Wolf Trap to see Great Big Sea. Yay! I loves me some Great Big Sea.
Anyway, everyone have a good day. Those in Fay’s path, stay dry. The rest of us are thanking you, by the way – Fay sucked all the bad weather away from us and we’re having a week of lovely low humidity, temps around 80 during the day and into the 50s/60s at night. We just went for a walk, and ran into friends with a nine-month-old in the park. So much fun. Their kid spontaneously weaned himself at eight months. I hope Nat doesn’t. I’m enjoying my All-Chocolate and Whipped Cream diet.
Howdy! The office has gotten quiet all of a sudden. I’m so glad it’s Friday and I’m almost done for the week. Just 3 hours and 40 minutes until the weekend! Not that I’m counting.
Next week is a short week and the week after. I love our summer holidays! See you in the weekend!
Ack. Why is that the one day I get stuck with the neverending file from hell also happens to be the one day I’d like to get the hell outta Dodge and start my vacation early?

Fay had decided to come visit for real. Rainin’ like hell out! I went out and drained a little more off the pool just in case. With my luck, I’ll end up havin’ to put water back into the pool.
Ol’ y’all know who is here. YAY!!! We’re havin’ mini corndogs and fries for dindin. Sounds like a fine fine supper for eight year olds don’t it!
When I finished up the workpile, I went to the sto’ and got a bunch of deli type stuff, along with the mini corndogs. This weekend is all about sammiches. Since we’ll probably be stuck watchin’ it rain tonight and tomorrow that sounded like a good plan to me. The frogs are talkin’ big time outside. It’s amazin’ how an itty bitty tree frog can make such a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG sound.
Oh, and I also got beer. Beer and sammiches and mini corndogs and french fries. It must be paradise!
Hello all! I decided to do something about my depressive state and since we have my daughter’s dog over for the weekend (while they go kayaking in the San Juan Islands, lucky beggars!) and she’s just a little bundle of kinetic energy I decided to wear both puppies out this morning. So I got my bike out and I ran them a good 2.5-3 miles up and down the bike trail. Callie was suitably chastened to find that even though she’s faster than Widget on a short distance, he can keep up a comfortable bike riding clip for miles and miles while she lagged behind and had to stop for a breather. She was panting like an old steam engine by the time we got back! Didn’t stop her, though, she has breakfast and a nap and was raring to go again. She just devils poor Widget and bites his legs if he doesn’t play with her to her satisfaction!
Did a bunch of errands, grocery shopped, picked up some books on hold at the library, it’s such a beautiful day out and it was so nice to spend some time with Himself, we’ve both been wrapped up in our separate glooms the past few days.
Last night I dreamed I strangled someone. No idea who the guy was or why I was doing it, but I totally strangled him until he was dead. I’m afraid to figure out what THAT means! :eek:
