Outlook is not searching new messages. Help?

I’m having issues with Outlook 2016 running on Windows 10. At first it wasn’t searching anything, so I rebuilt the search index. That solved the problem for existing emails. But the messages that come in after the index was rebuilt still do not come up on the search. For example, I can’t search today’s messages, but messages dated before today show up in the search results.

Any ideas on what is causing this?

I just had a deal where Outlook would have send/receive errors. I did a “repair” re-installation (be sure you have your license password, because it will ask to re-register.) That solved my problem.

ETA: the only thing I lost was the list of items “pinned” to the open-files menu. Also, it re-installed all Office products, not just Outlook.

Trinopus, re-installation was one of the things I tried doing. Didn’t work.

Heh: me neither. My problem came right back today.

So I’m flat doggoned if I know what to do.

I solved the issue. The latest windows security update caused the problem. Once I uninstalled it the problem went away.
