I read on one website that supinators put more wear along the outside edge of their shoes and I read on another website that overpronators put more wear along the outside edge. So which is it?
It’s sort of both. Everybody(almost) will land outside heel first. It’s the toe-off pattern that shows the degree of pronation.
To keep the thread going with something topical, how much does wearing a ‘support’ shoe really matter? Shoe stores put me on a treadmill and say I overpronate, then give me a shoe that’s really uncomfortable. If I find one that’s comfortable initially, it starts to make my ankles hurt in no time.
My theory is that I don’t pronate enough to need a support shoe, and that extra padding is making my ankles work in an angle they’re not happy with.
