I’m right handed, but typically it’s my left shoe that wears out more quickly.
Does your handedness have any correlation to which shoe normally wears down more quickly?

Yes, but right now I can’t figure out the mechanics of which shoe would normally wear down first.
Let me think, let me think. OK, If you are right handed/legged, your right leg is stronger, and you would tend to pull to the right. This is why people in blizzards often end up walking in circles.
Ahh, doesn’t help. I’m going to have to defer to greater minds.
V.
Would it help if I said the heels of my shoes wear out more quickly than the front part.
Um…just checking my shoes…
I’m right handed, and my right shoes are more worn out.
Do we get a free pair of shoes after this?? If yes, then my shoe size varies from 6 - 7 1/2.
Depending on which foot you favour, you’d turn more often and easily to one side. Similiarly your weight would be taken to one side more often. Especially when you slouch.
All minor things but they would definitely contribute.
The outer edges of both shoes wear out first. They seem to wear out at an equal rate.
My wife says I have two left feet, and it looks like my shoes wear out evenly, so she could be right.
Judging by my tread wear, mr right shoe wears out first. Of course, it might be because of my odd gait.
Right handed… left show more worn… Go figure…
Is everybody here basing their answers on more than one pair of shoes? I checked 3 pairs. I’m right handed.
Pair #1: Right tread worn out more
Pair #2: Left tread worn out more
Pair #3: Neither worn enough to tell
Personally, I have noticed that the left heel area wears out first on my shoes as well. This is based on observations of several pairs of shoes. The difference seems to be more profound on Adidas than other brands of shoes I have owned. And I’m right handed.
My gym shoes wear out in the big toe area first. I guess I walk with my big toe sticking up. Pretty stupid, no?
I wear heels alot. My right heel always wears out first from driving.
I’m right-handed, my right shoe always wears out faster.
-S
Outside edges wear out faster.
When I was younger, it used to be the heel.
Left handed…and I’m wearing a dress. …and snowshoes.
There isn’t any wear on either snowshoe. Am I the walking dead? Do monkeys taunt me? Oh…you bet they do. Those flea bitten bastards.
The Monkeys…THE MONKEYS!!!
the inside of both heels. Damn flat feet.
Ditto.
I’m right-handed, and the outer edge of my right shoe always goes first. I suspect it’s partially because I preferentially put my weight on that leg when I’m standing still, so when I start walking (often involving a pivot on that foot) I put extra wear on it.
Darn close to ambidextrous. (Finer control on my right, but I swap up often enough that most people have to ask) The ‘pad’ of my foot always wears out first. Where people who don’t take ballet call tippy toe. Pretty evenly as far as I can tell. My toes (and fingers) bend pretty far both ways so I stress the bending point of the shoe the most.
And if we get a free pair of shoes, I need some better work shoes. No holes, leather, classy but really tough. I’m killing the pair I bought for this job rapidly.
