Seems we’ve got a bit of a turf-disagreement in Populist City. Let’s settle this once and for all! C’mon, Gramma, let’s get it on! [swings tire chain, practices switchblade thrusts; music from West Side Story plays in background]
This can only be solved one way…
DANCE OFF!
I ain’t particular, so long as there’s lots of pain and bleeding and deaths.
A dance-off should do perfectly.
you gonna get served.
If the OWS people are anti-corporation and anti-wallstreet, does that mean the tea party will counter by being pro-corporation and pro-wallstreet? Or what?
Is this where the not-so-secret masters of the tea party really show their true intentions?
Its not as if the Occupiers lack rich patrons anyways.
Ah yes, the much-forgotten self-hating rich.
Most notably the hypocritical Warren Buffet and George Soros. They are not so much self-hating as knowing that they aren’t hurt by high taxes while upper middle class/small business/lower upper class people will be.
What? High brackets and marginal tax rates only affect the very rich - if you make 250k and the top marginal bracket is 200k (forget what it actually is, just making that up), you’re only paying extra tax on the extra $50k. So, with a 3% tax increase in the top bracket, they’d only actually see a 0.6% overall increase in their tax rate, whereas someone making 1m+ would see over 2%.
Also, people’s taxable income is well under their actual income after all the deductions they can get. So very likely the actual tax rate increase relative to their total income (for “upper middle class” people) is well under half a percent.
But I know your heart bleeds for the poor oppressed supposed upper middle class folks seeing a small fraction of a percent of tax increase on their many hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. You are a saint.
I guess this makes Warren Buffet, who selflessly advocates a higher tax rate to his personal detriment for the good of society, your mortal enemy.
 Most Americans would gladly swap pain with them.
