PA Chainsaw Massacre

It sounded like a scene from a horror movie.
A middle schooler comes home from playing basketball and finds his parents’ bodies.
Both are dead, both mutilated by a chainsaw.

tl/dr version: Recently divorced couple. Dad chokes, stabs, & chainsaws Mom to death, then commits suicide with same chainsaw. 8th grade son comes home to find their bodies. There are also six & third grade brothers.

What’d you leave behind? Three orphans. One who, along with PD & EMS responders, will almost certainly be screwed up by what they saw. (Unfortunately, I know this from experience, & no, I will not elaborate).

I don’t understand how the love for your three children can be less than the hatred for your ex. There is not a level of Hell deep enough for you!

Aye; that’s pretty fucked up.

There’s really nothing positive to say, how awful. I can’t stop thinking about William Murderface though.

Suicide by chainsaw. Eek!

This story is one of the worst things I’ve heard in a long, long time.

Agreed. Didn’t the kids mean anything to this guy? And leaving their mother and yourself to find you torn to shreds in the home you grow up in? I really hope they’re getting help and have enough (other) family around.

First thing I thought of when I read the OP.

Poor kids. :frowning:

Yet again, we have people looking for a rational explanation for an irrational act. The dude may not have been responsible for his acts, aka “legally insane”.

Why? Every indication in the story is that he was a sane, normal guy, and there is no history of mental illness at all.

I understand the human need somehow explain away something like this as “insane”, but human history is replete with examples of just how horrible sane, rational human beings can be. I don’t think assuming some kind of insanity will help.

:dubious:

No pun intended.

(my bad)

He did kill himself with a chainsaw, on purpose, which suggests that perhaps “every indication” wasn’t quite accurate.

If it helps you, feel free to put “except for his actions that day” in my post.

Can it be a massacre if there are only two victims?

I cannot imagine what sort of frame of reference would lead to killing yourself with a chainsaw.

When a chainsaw is involved, yes.

I though the same thing when this fucked up shit happened only in reverse.

…but then everything just fell apart.

Maybe extreme remorse for killing someone else with a chainsaw, so they decide it is cosmic justice to commit suicide that way also.

Let’s hope it’s not the preferred one.

Take note: this is what anti-gun legislation will inevitably lead to.
